Georgia’s Election Rules Threaten Our Democracy and Our Veterans: Op-Ed from TCN Founder Chris in The Atlanta Journal-Constitution

Founder of The Chamberlain Network Chris Purdy published an op-ed in The Atlanta Journal Constitution, calling on Georgia’s State Board of Elections to reconsider and reject new rules that has threatened veteran voters, poll workers, and Georgian's writ large.

On why these rules — that largely focus on election certification — are concerning, Purdy shared “These rules will not only undermine our election process, but will also put an unfair burden on our election workers, including the thousands of veterans who have stepped up to serve their country once again.”

The challenges span much further than veteran pollworkers though — as Purdy shares “Veterans, like all Georgians, deserve a voting process that’s fair, efficient, and accessible. Veterans with disabilities or those struggling with PTSD already face barriers to voting, and these proposed changes could make it even harder by increasing wait times and delaying results. That’s not what democracy is supposed to be about.”
