The strength of our democracy lies in our hands: Op-Ed from TCN Board Member Scott Cooper

The Chamberlain Network Board Member Scott Cooper and his high school drama teacher, Michael Stedillie, published an op-ed in The Casper Star-Tribune, affirming the integrity of our electoral systems.

Of the urgent challenges we face as a nation, Cooper and Stedillie write “Our democracy, the cornerstone of the freedoms we cherish, is facing an unprecedented challenge. Misinformation and baseless claims of election fraud have seeped into the public square, eroding trust and sowing seeds of doubt. These falsehoods don’t just tarnish our electoral process; they strike at the heart of who we are as Americans.”

From their unique perspectives, they go on to share “As a veteran who defended this nation and an educator who helped shape future generations, we’ve learned that real leadership means telling the truth, even when it’s inconvenient. And right now, the truth is that our elections are secure, built on the tireless work of officials, volunteers, and community members who take their roles seriously and serve with integrity.”
