The Veteran Pledge

I am a veteran. I took an oath to support and uphold the Constitution of the United States. 

Through my service to our country, I have dedicated my life to defending the United States, its people, and its democratic values. 

Because of this dedication to democracy, I am concerned by the rise in political violence and violent rhetoric.  Such violence threatens the foundations of our democracy and the rule of law. 

Therefore, 

  • I commit to rejecting violence in our political process;

  • I commit to ending divisive rhetoric;

  • I commit to resolving differences through those democratic processes set forth in our laws and the Constitution of the United States. 

By signing this pledge, I commit myself to upholding these principles. I take responsibility for defending and safeguarding a peaceful democracy. And I commit to working together with and alongside my fellow Americans to build a stronger, more United America.
